About Bernese Mountain Dogs
Good natured / Calm / Strong
- Bernese Mountain Dogs are a part of the Working Dog's group. They have a life expectancy of 7-10 years. (Although we've heard of many living into their teen years).
- Females height range from 23-26 in and weigh 70-95 lbs while males height ranges from 25-27.5 in and weigh 80-115 lbs.
- According to the AKC they are highest in affection with family, good with children and other dogs.
- Shedding level is also the highest (Some call it Berner glitter.) We have found proper diet and grooming makes it manageable.
- Their coat is a double layer, medium in length. The undercoat is what sheds 2x a year! It is the most beautiful tri-color coat!
- They are very playful, watchful/protective, and adaptable.
- Their energy level matches there trainability. They will happily learn whatever you hope to teach!
